Power Engineering Company specializes in industrial hard chrome plated crankshafts. Our unique preparation methods successfully salvage and restore crankshafts other companies often consider beyond repair. Hard chrome plating adds years of life to worn and damaged crankshafts. Power Engineering’s chrome plating process builds up all bearing surfaces on the crankshaft with one of the hardest plating materials developed. Chromium is a reliable, long lasting, low friction metal which resists galling seizing and abrasions. Worn oil seal areas, gear fits and pulley fits are chromed and ground.

We also repair bolt holes, keyways, threads, tapers and counterweight problems. We provide replacement of integral gears on several models of Caterpillar crankshafts. Modification of a Waukesha non-counterweighted crankshaft to a counterweighted crankshaft is available on certain models upon request. We are equipped to accommodate many other special needs.
